Although
this site has been rather ignored for a while, I feel that it is necessary to
have a decent links page somewhere on your site. Maybe it's a place for you to
direct people towards places on the net which you recommend, maybe it's a
portal for sites that people don't really want you to know about. Sure, if you
want to find just about anything these days your best bet is to go to
www.google.com and punch in your
search request, but maybe you figure that as you've been reading my
blog and think you have some idea about who I am,
here's a little bit of a chance to find out the kind of sites which I look at.
The web resources group was compiled about a year and a half ago, and is a
reflection of my 'learning about computer stuff' stage, when I felt that Linux
would eventually take over the world and that everything on the internet was
free if you just looked hard enough. The chat group was also another 'stage'
of my life, for a while back in the second half of 2000 and most of 2001 I
would spend hours and hours in chat, I learned just about everything there was
to know about Cheetachat, which
you can see in my Cheetachat Page. I guess
that I got through that stage, due to a combination of not having a computer
and actually getting a life. During that time I learned a bit about stylish
programmes such as Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Dreamweaver, although I'm
still a bit lost when it comes to doing anything particularly constructive
using either. File transfer programmes have been the target of lawsuits
everywhere, or have been infested by Spyware. Fortunately,
Kazaa Lite exists, which basically
makes all other File Transfer programs pointless in comparison. The last bunch
of links are probably what you would expect in a links page, as they are a
reasonable indication of what I look at during my time on the internet. I've
also become a bit of a blog-reading addict over the past six months, when I
realised that I had been writing a blog for about a year and a half without
actually realising that was what I was doing. So hopefully the links either
here or on my main page are of some interest
to you.
